Maalo Jewellery is a sustainable brand born from the desire to create timeless, wearable jewellery for every occasion. Our designs balance a contemporary aesthetic inspired by our natural world, women, and Mexican culture. All pieces are designed in London and handmade either by the founder or by a small team of artisans in her hometown in Mexico. The planet is part of every decision we make, so we ensure our materials and processes have the least impact on our Earth. We only use recycled metals, our collections are produced in small batches, our packaging is recycled and plantable, and our artisans get paid a fair wage.

My name is Montserrat and I'm the founder of Maalo Jewellery.
From the start, I knew I wanted to approach my brand with a conscious and sustainable mentality. The outcome was Maalo Jewellery, a truly sustainable brand where pieces are handmade either by myself in London or a small team of artisans in my hometown in Mexico.
I believe jewellery is part of someone’s identity and the longer you wear a jewellery piece, the more history it builds.
During the day I still work a 9 to 5 job at a sports-tech company doing marketing and business development - I love running marathons (4 finished so far), and my ‘spare time’ goes into Maalo.
I studied textile and fashion design at CENTRO in Mexico City and graduated in 2015. In 2016 I decided I wanted to live an adventure in one of the fashion capitals of the world, so I bought a one-way ticket to London and 5 years later, here I am!
