Fields & Ferns is an East London-based slow fashion brand created by Alisha and Ancilla in 2020. The creation of our products is guided by nature’s colour and shapes, in addition to our love of embroidery and beading. We aim to make thoughtfully designed clothing and accessories that challenge old cliches about how women are supposed to dress and be in the hope that it will not only inspire women to dress more boldly but live more boldly as well. Fields & Ferns was built on the premise of wanting to divert waste from landfill. The majority of Fields & Ferns’ clothing is handmade from upcycled deadstock materials from local London factories or fashion businesses that would otherwise be thrown away. This allows us to not only divert waste from landfill but also saves precious energy that would be used to create new materials. Whenever we cannot use deadstock fabric, we use natural fibres to not add microplastics into the environment. Our jewellery currently uses glass beads, silver wire, bio resins, and stainless steel. We try to do everything we can to ensure that our fabric, manufacturing, packaging and garments are sourced in the most sustainable, circular, and responsible way possible. We understand that no fashion brand can be 100% sustainable. That being said we are committed to implementing even more sustainable practices into our business as we grow.
